"Revival is the Sovereign, Sudden, Selected, Sensational operation of the holy spirit of God descending in the midst of Prayer which produces Purity and reaches the Perishing"
Ken Conley
"Urgently do we need a revival of personal godliness. Sanctified men are the salt of society...."
Charles Haddon Spurgeon
"What we need now is A revival of holiness. A revival of character. A revival of people who are utterly selfless and preparred to lay their lives on the altar of God."

"We have not changed goals, we have just changed gears"
Dear Prayer Warriors:
My time is in His hands. I have reached the 76th mile marker. The heart is still burning to tell the good news. It grows hotter the closer I get to the last leg of the journey. We began our journey in the ministry August 1958. However, there comes a time that changes must be made. We have not changed goals. The command still stands, to reach the world for Christ, Mark 16:15. Jesus did it'' one at a time.''
In the last several years God has put us through school. In visiting numerous churches we have learned many things. Some were on fire early on. Today, you would not know they were the same church. Many have different pastors and different purposes. They are treading water, trying to meet the budget by cutting mission giving. The greatest need we see is PRAYER, Matthew 9:35. From prayer comes REVIVAL. From revival comes WORLD EVANGELISM. How long has it been that you heard moms and dads cry out in prayer, ""Oh God, call our children into missions. Send them to carry the good news to the lost world for Jesus sake."
PRAYER: My change in burden is to teach our people the need of PRAYER, REVIVAL AND WITNESSING. Perhaps rather than a prayer meeting, we should focus on family altars with men, women and youth praying as did the New Testament Church Acts 1:10. They continued in prayer. They did not have a prayer meeting, it was a prayer meeting.
It is important to emphasize revival praying. In 1992, Tabernacle Baptist Church, where Ii was pastor, every faithful, active member had family altar. Our young people need to know the importance of prayer. With little prayer comes little power. II Chronicles 7:14 is God's promise to us.
WITNESSING: Revival in the church creates soul conscious witnesses.
Too long have we prostituted the job of the Holy Spirit and used man made methods to motivate 'soul winning". Soul winning is the job of the Holy Spirit. Being a witness is telling what we know to be true. The Holy Spirit is the attorney. He argues the case. Witnessing and normal New Testament Christian living reveals a burden for the world in obedience to the savior.
EVANGELISM: If I live 2 or 20 years, this will be my message:
Revival Praying, Biblical Revival and World Evangelism. Revival is a sovereign act of God but we are responsible to set our sails for "the wind" to blow.
Yours for revival

Dear Rope Holders:
It has been a joy to serve with my parents in ministry for the majority of my life. During this last year, I have been uniquely challenged and humbled with the opportunity of pastoring my parents and have learned so much from their Godly example and willingness to be used up for God's glory.
When Dad and I spoke of his new post in service for our Lord, he would not speak of retiring. He will never retire, so he is going to continue to serve through our local assembly, and preach when he has the opportunity on revival and missions. Mom and Dad continue to be greatly burdened for world evangelization and especially with ministries who are training nationals to establish churches. This burden will never die; McEver Road Baptist Church will carry on the torch!
Because of the contntual influence and burden that Mom and Dad have had for missions, our church family voted to continue their finacial support. Their "mission" has not changed, they will continue to awaken people to mission needs abroad. God has greatly used the missionary family and we are grateful to share their journey of faithful service for HIM. I trust you will join us as we strive to win the lost at home and abroad for HIS glory. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to phone our church office.
All for His Glory,
Pastor Rod Bell, Jr.

'The Sound of Abundance of Rain'
Welcome to a Ministry of Helps
The Old Crooked Stick Ministry is thoroughly Biblical in it’s missions philosophy. We believe that God’s glory is the primary purpose for missions, not man’s need.
We believe that the ultimate purpose of the church is not missions or world evangelism, but fellowship with God. God created man not for service, but for fellowship. Out of fellowship comes the revelation of God. Out of the revelation of God comes obedience and service, which is true worship. True worship is the ultimate goal of the church. Therefore, we must go into all the world in obedience to His great command for His name sake.
We believe the great commission is given to the local church. That is why we are a vital part of Marantha Baptist Church. We are sent out by our local assembly and we are responsible to our local assembly.
